Partner Disclosure Guide
Last Updated: December 9, 2024
Effective Date: December 9, 2024
Legal Requirement
Affiliate disclosure is not optional. Consumer protection laws in the UK, EU, US, and most jurisdictions require you to clearly disclose any material connection when promoting products for compensation.
1. The Basic Rule
"If you receive any benefit for promoting Meirra — money, free service, or anything of value — you must clearly tell your audience."
2. Disclosure Requirements
Clear & Conspicuous
Disclosures must be easy to find and understand. Don't hide them at the bottom of posts or in small print.
Before the Link
Place your disclosure before or near the affiliate link, not at the end where people might miss it.
Plain Language
Use words people understand. 'I earn a commission' is better than 'material connection exists'.
Every Time
Disclose in every post, video, or email that contains affiliate links. Having it on your About page isn't enough.
3. Approved Disclosure Language
Short Form (Social Media)
Use for Twitter, Instagram captions, and short-form content:
#ad #affiliateStandard Form (Blog Posts)
Use for blog posts, articles, and longer content:
Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. If you purchase through these links, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you.Comprehensive Form (Reviews)
Use for detailed reviews or when you receive free products/services:
Disclosure: I'm a Meirra Partner and earn commissions when you sign up through my links. I only recommend products I genuinely believe in. My opinions are my own.Video Script
Use for YouTube videos or podcasts:
