Getting Started with Lead Discovery

Lead discovery helps you find potential customers and their contact information without leaving the platform. Search for businesses by industry, location, and category using Google Maps data, then enrich each lead with verified email addresses and company details. Discovered leads flow directly into your contact lists, ready for campaigns and sequences. The entire pipeline — from finding a business to having a verified email address — is handled automatically.

Discovering Leads with Google Maps

To start a discovery search, go to Email > Leads and click 'New Search'. Enter a business category (e.g., 'solicitors', 'restaurants', 'marketing agencies') and a target location (city, region, or postcode). The platform searches Google Maps for matching businesses and pulls in key details — business name, website, phone number, address, and ratings. Results are deduplicated automatically so you never get the same business twice. For large areas, the search subdivides the region into smaller zones to capture every result, even in dense markets.

Enriching Lead Data

Once businesses are discovered, the enrichment engine visits each website to find real contact information. It extracts names, email addresses, and job titles from team pages, about pages, and contact pages. Every email address is then verified through SMTP checks to confirm it exists and can receive mail. Contacts are scored as verified (safe to send), catch-all (accepts any address), or invalid (bounces). Only verified contacts appear as ready-to-send in your lists. Enrichment runs in the background — large batches may take a few hours to complete.

Send verification level

Before a campaign emails a contact, Meirra checks the contact's email verification status against your send verification level. You choose the level on the Lead Settings page, and it applies to every campaign email: • **Verified only** — only addresses verified as deliverable are emailed. • **Verified + catch-all** — verified addresses plus addresses on catch-all domains, which accept mail for any address so a single mailbox cannot be confirmed. This is the default and the recommended level. • **Allow unknown** — also emails contacts whose status could not be determined. This reaches the most contacts and carries the highest bounce risk. Invalid and bounced addresses are never emailed, whichever level you choose. A contact that does not meet your level is skipped for that email; it is not removed from your lists.

Lead Automations

Automate your lead pipeline so discovered and enriched contacts flow straight into your outreach. An automation runs on a schedule, finds leads matching your filters, enriches and verifies them, and feeds them into the campaign you choose — the campaign then handles the emailing. The result is a fully automated workflow: discover leads, verify their emails, and add them to a campaign — all without manual steps. Review each automation's run history to ensure everything runs as expected.
